Directions
How to get to Fonte de Baixo
By public transport you will find it easy to get to Pombal, Pedrogao Grande or Serta the three closest towns to Casal dos Bufos. We will pick you up from there. Please ensure you make arrangements with us by email info@ahimsa-portugal.com or by telephone (0035 191 505 5861) well in advance.
If you experience any difficulty in your journey and will not be able to make the meeting point at the arranged time, please let us know as early as possible and “ keep our mobile number with you just in case!
By plane:
- Fly to Lisbon or Porto. Check www.skyscanner.net for best options.
By car:
From Lisboa aeroporto
- Follow the signs IP1 (A1) towards Porto (toll road)
- Exit at junction 10 (Pombal) and take the IC8 towards Castelo Branco
- Stay on the IC8 for around 50 km.
- Take the exit signposted
- Take the turn to
- At the end of the village turn right following the sign
Sr.a Confiança, Penedo, Casal dos Bufos
Follow the road uphill to the right.
Go through
At crossroads turn right Take the next left turn, signposted Bouças
Go past two houses on your right
Take the 3rd drive to the right
Follow the track down trough the woods.
From Porto aeroporto
- Follow the signposts IP1 (A1) to Lisboa (toll road)
- Exit at junction 10 (Pombal) and take the IC8 towards Castelo Branco
- Continue as above.
From Spain
- Take the A 62 to Guarda.
- Take the A 23 to Castelo Branco
- Take the IC8 towards Figueiro da Foz/Serta
- Continue for 55 km
- Exit at Pedrogao Pequeno and continue as above.
By train
From Lisboa aeroporto
Take a taxi from the Airport to Oriente railway station (a short 5-minute ride which costs approximately €8/10) or take bus number 44 just outside the Airport (but be alert to pick-pockets as they operate in this area.

From Porto aeroporto
Take the Underground to the main railway station and take the train to . We will pick you up there. You can find a timetable on line www.cp.pt (English version on the net)
By coach
There are about five busses per day to Pedrogao Grande, but they take twice as long as the train. If you fancy the scenic route go to www.rede-expressos.pt for the time table. We will pick you up at the bus stop.
