Therapies at Ahimsa

"Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is a wonderful moment."
THICH NHAT HAHN

74_84_image001.jpg Some people find it easy to relax once they are removed from a stressful situation. Others store strain and emotional pain in their bodies for a long time. For most people massage treatments speed up the process of relaxation enormously. The power of touch is grounding, soothing and reassuring. It supports the body in its desire to heal itself.

Massage is a wonderful way to counteract physical and mental exhaustion, burn out, insomnia, depression and discomfort. It brings you back in the body if you are feeling detached from yourself. Muscular tension dissolves. The neurological response makes the organs work more efficiently which results in an instant increase in well being. Digestion improves, blood pressure levels, headaches disappear, circulation increases. The release of feel-good-hormones gives a lift to emotions. You start to feel whole again.

Ayurveda

74_86_image008.jpg Ayurveda is the worlds most complete and integrated system of healing. It is part of the yoga philosophy and was developed in India over 5000 years ago. It places a strong emphasis on preventative measures to feel better, look better and have more energy now and in old age. We are part of the universe, which consists of five elements: Space, air, fire, water and earth. Every disease is an imbalance of these elements. Nutrition, yoga, herbal remedies and massage are used to recreate a healthy balance. We are all unique and Ayurveda guides us to live a lifestyle which supports our own individual constitution.
